Before streetlights illuminated the parade routes of New Orleans, there were the Flambeaux. For over a century, these legendary torchbearers have been the true "keepers of the light" for Mardi Gras night parades. But they do more than just light the path. They perform--with heavy kerosene torches balanced on their shoulders! They dance, twirl, and strut, captivating the crowds.

Historically, onlookers would toss coins to the Flambeaux in appreciation of their art—money that in the earliest days enslaved men used to purchase their own freedom. Today, we honor this profound legacy of resilience and celebration.

Much like the torches that cut through the darkness, this candle fragrance is bright, lively, and illuminating. We’ve blended a zesty Lemongrass top note with an earthy and cleansing Sage, which clears the air and sets the stage for the festivities to begin.

Each candle is hand-poured into our recycled 8.25 oz glass tumbler and stamped with a hand-pressed wax seal bearing the fleur de lis—the iconic mark of our city. It arrives slipped into a colorful organza gift bag, ready for immediate gifting or hosting duties.
